Devi Kroell made a name for herself attaining mastery of the mix between luxe and casual. Her oversized python hobos started a craze because while they were crafted out of the most supple, eyecatching material they were also devoid of logos, hardware and many of the other trappings that usually come with designer handbags. They were elegant without being fussy or redundant – as a result they spawned a sea of imitators and variations. As well received as those bags were there comes a time whenever designer has to boldly go into new frontiers.
In recent years Kroell has expanded her signature exotics into shoes, accessories, a full fledged ready to wear line and of course more bags. The F/W selection from Devi Kroell is consistently luxurious – while there are a few items that verge towards being a touch too precious (metallic python platforms probably won’t be of much use to anyone who isn’t Cher) Kroell is best when she keeps it simple. Overall collection is full of gems – from appealingly structured clutches made of eel, the similarly fabulous bejeweled wooden clutches and of course a few of those good ol’ python hobos for anyone inclined to stick with basics.
